~~***~~IMPORTANT INFO BELOW~~***~~ Hello guys!!~~ This video is basically my story on how I studied abroad in high school. If you are not in high school and/or not interested in studying abroad in Japan during high school, feel free to ignore this video!~ haha Sorry for the terrible Japanese, btw (ノдヽ) The organization I used: Greenheart Travel http://www.cci-exchange.com/travelabroad/program.aspx?id=666 The company also has other things you can do, like volunteer abroad and teach English abroad! Very cool :) *I did homestay with a family for 3 months, incl. tickets and everything (and I applied early, so discount) it was around $6000 I think. I forgot D: Year-long program is around $12,000...that's a realllly good deal! Other things worth considering: *Rotary Club nearby you may sponsor students to study abroad (i.e. look out for scholarship opportunities) *Another well-known organization: http://www.ciee.org/ *Some people take a GAP year, or a year off JUST for study abroad. I did not want to delay college, so my unique answer to the problem was graduating early and finding my own program. THIS MAY NOT BE FOR YOU (since I already graduated high school, I didn't have to worry about getting credit: you may have to depending on your situation). *There's also much shorter programs, around 2 weeks or what-not, but these tend to be more expensive, and you will learn more about the culture, but little improvement in language skill can be expected from this type of program *Before going on a study abroad, I recommend knowing some Japanese. Take advantage of any classes near you, even if they are at a community college and not your high school. Ideally one year of Japanese study before a study abroad, but regardless of what you know beforehand, you will know a lot more afterwards *Study abroad can be fun, but it's different than travel. You're LIVING in the country, thus it's not always "fun". But, trust me, it's definitely worth it, ups and downs! *always leave time to apply for the program. It's generally said you need to apply for your program almost a year before you go! You need to leave time for stuff like getting your passport and a student visa for Japan. Best of luck guys! ^ ^ Check out my blog: http://emilycebula.wordpress.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/TanoshiiEmi

Situated at the gateway to the west at the base of Yellowstone and the Rockies rests Cody, Wyoming - a place for travelers to rest their heads coming in off the plains. No better is there a place to do so than the Chamberlin Inn - a modern but classic western hotel where Ernest Hemingway once stayed. http://chamberlininn.com/

The Hotel Donaldson truly is "all of the region's cool under one roof". Owner Karen Stoker spared no effort when rebuilding the iconic Fargo hotel - every room is designed around a regional artist, both in-house restaurants feature indigenous menus and although the entire building feels as modern as any cosmopolitan destination could be you can still feel pieces of nostalgic history throughout. Don't pass up an opportunity to stay at one of the coolest hotels in America if you have the chance to travel to Fargo. http://www.hoteldonaldson.com/

A poem to a city that has quickly become my home. Seattle, you are wonderful. This is very different from my usual video blogs, but I wanted to show you all the beautiful city I live in from my own perspective. Follow me on Twitter! http://youtube.com/booshoe37 Instagram: http://instagram.com/booshoe37 Facebook: http://facebook.com/booshoe37 Tumblr: http://stuckinatextbook.tumblr.com T-Shirts: http://booshoe.spreadshirt.com Please let me know if you like this in the comment section! I want to improve my film techniques for future videos! Thanks for watching! Dear Seattle, I've lived in you for two and a half years now, and I still quite haven't gotten over the fact that when I look up at your skyscrapers, it makes me realize how small I really am. I have never been a huge fan of your consistent rain and what must be endless overcast, but as soon as the dew finally evaporates off of the grass I tend to forget about all of your clouds and any other worry that now seems as far gone as winter. The aroma of coffee brings me to your streets daily. On bike or by foot your trees pass swiftly by me just like the ferries floating near Pike Market or the small boats that linger past the great blue Fremont Bridge. And when I sit on the hill at Gas Works Park or the edge of Queen Anne looking over the Space Needle, the view makes the walk seem worth it. I love how the day's light sinks below the Olympics and your new city lights shine into my sight, every night. Your citizens are like no one I've ever encountered. With their funny shaped glasses, flannel shirts or anything that can be found in a thrift shop for that matter, they contain a style unlike anywhere else. You'd think that I would've fit in too with my plain T-shirt and blue-jeans, but I've come to realize that the idea of self-expression in Seattle is much more than trying to mesh into the majority. Without the immense diversity between these buildings, the street art wouldn't be nearly as interesting. From the cafes of Capitol Hill to the streets of Wallingford, your alleyways and underground locations are full of surprises. There is never a dull day living in you, Seattle. Growing and constantly changing; though you are vivid and full of life. Your culture is your own and I can't wait to see what you have in store for me tomorrow. Love,
a very happy citizen. Background music: The Veldt 8-bit Remix by https://www.youtube.com/user/WillRock07

Take a tour of Victorian Houses of San Francisco in San Francisco, United States -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions series by GeoBeats. No where else does the Victorian style dominates the skyline like San Francisco, which hosts the original "Painted Ladies." Vibrant, welcoming colors give these 19th century holdovers a whimsical, yet awe-inspiring look. From 1850-1900, there were over 48,000 Victorians built in the area to accommodate the growing population Most San Francisco Victorians were built with redwood, a cheap and abundant local material. Many of these buildings were lost in San Francisco's great earthquake and fire in 1906. However, some western neighborhoods were spared the flames, and the architectural tradition lives on. Visit Alamo Square to see how these classic, colorful buildings give character to the city.
