Israel has completely sealed off all crossings of Gaza for the Jewish holiday of Passover. Rights groups consider closing of the crossings on Jewish holidays as a racist move against the Palestinians. The Gaza Strip is already under a tight land and sea blockade and according to experts closing the crossings which are not fully functioning will only add insult to injury. Yom Kippur is a religious day of fast. While Israel is practically closed throughout this day, driving is also basically forbidden by tradition; and so the people replace the cars and take over the highways. This video was captured from a building's viewpoint in Tel-Aviv, observing a main traffic junction that is known as a social gathering place during this holiday. The video covers around 32 hours, just a little before the holiday starts and after its over (which is 5pm to 5pm the next day), with music from TCP.

Jewish settlers in Palestine: the most notorious squatters in the world. Israeli settlers have been slowly nibbling away at Palestine's West Bank territory for four decades. 300,000 setllers now occupy outposts that range in size from plywood shacks to full-blown suburban housing complexes. Their abundance has grounded the much-ballyhooed two-state solution to a halt. VICE correspondent Simon Ostrovsky travels from Tel Aviv to the remote West Bank outposts where young Israelis squat for the sake of their heritage. But first, Simon pops in for some quick counter-terrorism training with a member of Israel's Special Forces, just in case. http://www.tusdestinos.net Jerusalén es la ciudad santa para las tres religiones monoteístas: cristianismo, islamismo y judaísmo. Flight review of Swiss International Air Lines flight LX254 from Zurich to Tel Aviv on the A330-300 aircraft. It was a 3h 28min flight with a drink service followed by a hot meal service. The meal was really tasty and very enjoyable (the Swiss cheese was a nice touch). Views out of the window were excellent, especially the awe-inspiring views of the Alps. The entertainment system was great too with a nice selection of movies. Service-wise, the cabin crew were welcoming, cheerful and courteous. It was an excellent flight with the flag carrier of Switzerland and I hope you will enjoy this Swiss experience. Thank you for watching and do subscribe! We've compiled his footage into a series of raw, largely unedited vignettes that present a snapshot of the ancient city as it crumbles and burns while its citizens are killed indiscriminately. The word THEM has the destructive power to enslave entire continents, wage wars, and commit genocides. THEM impacts personal relationships as well as geopolitical conflicts. This talk will inspire you to get past THEM and recognize that the 'other' has its own narrative, history, and perspective. With this insight, conflicts are resolvable and our human interactions are richer and more nuanced. Dick Simon is a serial entrepreneur, passionate photographer and has spent the past twelve years traveling throughout conflict regions of the world, including North Korea, Iran, Syria, Israel/Palestine, Cuba and others, learning about and combating the most dangerous four-letter word in the English language, THEM. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Jewish settlers in Palestine: the most notorious squatters in the world. Israeli settlers justify their expansion into the West Bank by digging up ancient artifacts that supposedly prove that they've occupied that patch of land for longer than the Palestinians. The twist is that the settlers have the Palestinians do the actual digging under the "supervision" of the Israeli army. Simon stumbles upon one of these infamous archaeological digs and finds that the Israelis are less than eager for their operation to be caught on camera. Mere weeks before the law passed, the first Tel Aviv fashion week in 30 years featured typically waifish high-fashion models. Moderna y cosmopolita, a través de estas imágenes conoceremos sus calles y sus mercados (siendo los más famosos el de las Pulgas, en Yafo, y el de las Frutas). How do you see your city? Fascinating, cosmopolitan and exciting - or disturbing and depressing? However you feel about the place you call home, there's no denying the energy and creativity of the people - we've seen the emergence of a new generation of talented artists, determined to break from the stereotypes and misconceptions of the past. In our new video 'The Young Professionals', we've tried to capture the spirit and diversity of the people who live here -- people who 'work to live' rather than 'live to work'. Tel Aviv is urban living at its best, a place to meet and socialize, and use new media to interact and communicate. It's a city where individualism is celebrated -- quirky and different is always welcome, with the freedom to go wherever you want, whenever you want. That's how we see our city, and we want to know how you see yours. The Young Professionals invite you to take part in a visual conversation at http://bit.ly/yEvSeC, and share your city's creativity with the world. Egypt is allowing Palestinians free entry to its territory in a landmark move ending part of a longtime blockade on Gaza. It was imposed by Israel with the help of Egypt five years ago, after Hamas took control of the Palestinian territory. But with a president from the Muslim Brotherhood now leading Egypt, the move is widely seen as a friendly gesture to Hamas - an offshoot of the Brotherhood, which operates independently. A walk around the old city of Jerusalem during December 2010. Please only post comments relevant to travel and refrain from ANY political comments, positive or negative. There are plenty of other Youtube videos which would welcome political commentary. Jerusalem is located on a plateau in the Judean Mountains between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea, is one of the oldest cities in the world. It is considered holy to the three major Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity and Islam. During its long history, Jerusalem has been destroyed twice, besieged 23 times, attacked 52 times, and captured and recaptured 44 times. The oldest part of the city was settled in the 4th millennium BCE. In 1538, walls were built around Jerusalem under Suleiman the Magnificent. Today those walls define the Old City, which has been traditionally divided into four quarters - known since the early 19th century as the Armenian, Christian, Jewish, and Muslim Quarters. The Old City became a World Heritage site in 1981. Modern Jerusalem has grown far beyond the Old City's boundaries. Simply wandering the streets of the Old City while capturing the ambience, historical sites, smells and different people will leave you with unforgettable experiences and a lifetime of amazing memories. Every person should visit Jerusalem at least once. I shall never forget my visits there. Neither will you! Camera equipment: --------------------------- - Sony HDR-AX2000 HD video camera.
