The 'Book of New Zealand tells the story of how New Zealand has inspired the epic landscapes behind Sir Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' Trilogy. The 'Book of New Zealand' -- the world's biggest pop-up book installed on-site at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Los Angeles to celebrate the world premiere of 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug' on December 2, 2013 -- features original sets and effects from 'The Hobbit' Trilogy, representing four of the principal filming locations and the featured New Zealand landscapes. The much anticipated 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug', a production of New Line Cinema and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, is scheduled for worldwide release on 13 December, 2013.

After putting his Impreza build aside, Ryan travels to New Zealand for school. The first lesson to be learned here is never start a project you cannot finish. The second lesson to be learned is never stop dreaming, and don't listen to the first lesson. Ryan searches out the New Zealand rally culture after traveling to the South Island of NZ to study at the University of Otago. Within the first week, he stumbles across an Otago Sports Car Club hillclimb, which he attends as a spectator. After some networking with kiwi rally enthusiasts, Ryan buys his own small Toyota Starlet, works at a rally shop, and ultimately races a prepped rally car in a 'Grass Autocross' event in a sheep paddock.
