Within walking distance from the Central Fire Station in the Civic District, discover the Peranakan Museum. Sheltered in an elegant edifice built in 1910 and formely known as the Tao Nan School, the Peranakan Museum is the living memory of Singapore's Peranakan community. The Peranakan Chinese or Baba-Nonya are the descendants of the 15th and 16th century Chinese traders who settled down in the Southeast region and married local Malay or Indonesian wives. As a result a unique and rich culture influenced by Chinese, Malay and Indonesian customs has emerged. With a special emphasis on the Chinese Peranakans, the Peranakan Museum presents a journey to the origins of the Peranakan community, unveiling its customs and traditions. As an expat living in Thailand since 1996, Scott Mallon has worked as a photojournalist, been inside both Bang Kwang and Klong Prem Prisons, lost months at a time partying the days and nights away, been hospitalized several times, been near death once, fought in Muay Thai, managed a world-rated championship boxer, trained professional boxers, been thrown in jail, and fathered two children. Somehow, through it all, he's managed to remain married to the same Thai woman. You'll get the good, the bad, and the ugly from someone who has lived here - really lived. Don't visit our Website: http://www.sproductions.in Don't like us on Facebook: http://goo.gl/yf8To Please Share this on Facebook: http://goo.gl/t77RQ0 I recently got a chance to experience the brand new Boeing 787 of the Air India's fleet. Was even more lucky to experience its amazing Business class. Here's a little video overview of how it feels to be in the 787. The Business class is equipped with 18 seats that can be converted into fully flat beds. These seats are electrically controlled and also have a massaging feature built in. The IFE was pretty good and had a decent range of movies and other programs. The system is AVOD and you can also play games or listen to music if you'd like. It runs Thales i8000 series of Inflight Entertainment System and is rock solid in my opinion. In addition to the individual PTVs, you also get overhead TVs that display moving map and displays other country specific movie programs. I totally enjoyed my flight on the Boeing 787. Its truly a wonderful aircraft and is a joy to fly on. Hoping to fly on it again! Thanks for commenting and Subscribing to my channel! www.traveltherenext.tv For A$199, this airline is worth considering. I wasn't sure what to expect on the flight from Gold Coast to Singapore and was pleasantly surprised. A snow storm in China delayed the flight for nine hours. The flight itself was more than bearable, in fact reasonably comfortable in a stretch seat. For $24 extra, I highly recommend booking a stretch seat for the extra leg room. Yep, I'd fly Scoot again. For details see www.flyscoot.com.
