But when they emerged they saw there a man Plowing and planting seeds in the land Surprised they cried, "How could he forsake Eternal life, for this life that's fake." And every place to which they turned Their eyes, went up in flames and burned But then a voice from heaven cried "Have you emerged and come outside To destroy my world, you can't behave Like this, now go back to your cave" So they returned there, forced to dwell Twelve month like the wicked stay in hell Until the voice from heaven said "Leave your cave." And so they did It's Lag BaOmer, so leave your home Like Rebbi Shimon on Mount Meron Don't stay and hide in your cave, go play With your friends outside it's a beautiful day Shoot your bow and arrow up in the sky Get high on Torah like Bar Yochai Light your bonfire, pull an all-nighter On the Yartzeit of the Zohar writer Many years went by and Bar Yochai Was laying in bed about to die It was Lag BaOmer, the thirty third day And when the sun set he would pass away He knew it was his last chance to give Over all his wisdom while he still lived And so he began to reveal many more Secrets of Torah than ever before His students gathered around his bed Rebbi Abba wrote every word he said He was goingg fast if a thing was lost Future generations would pay the cost Trying to fit all he had to say To his students into that single day Rebbi Abba was writing but the sunlight Was sinking and there was too much to write But he kept on teaching and teaching and yet The sun stood still and refused to set A burning fire surrounded the house None could enter none could go out And when he finished speaking at last The house was lit by a brilliant flash As Rebbi Shimon returned his soul To its Maker, pure, righteous, and whole And to this day the whole Jewish nation Is still being nourished by his revelation Bar Yochai gave us the Zohar On the eighteenth day in the month of Iyar It's Lag BaOmer, so leave your home Like Rebbi Shimon on Mount Meron Don't stay and hide in your cave, go play With your friends outside it's a beautiful day Shoot your bow and arrow up in the sky Get high on Torah like Bar Yochai Light your bonfire, pull an all-nighter On the Yartzeit of the Zohar writer

Jews all over the world will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah or the Jewish New Year this week. Here in Israel it's very common to see storefronts like these selling honey and various gifts people can bring to their families. Dipping the apple in the honey is a custom that expresses hope for a sweet and new year. But the tradition also demands something spiritually of Jews, that they do some soul-searching, introspection, look at their deeds and see how they can improve their life. Let's take a listen to what Israelis had to say about the holiday. The Rabbis say blowing the shofar or ram's horn on Rosh Hashanah is supposed to bring us to repentance, but it's also supposed to remind us of the story of the binding of Isaac. Abraham filled with devotion and trust in God follows his instruction to sacrifice his son Isaac. God of course doesn't permit him to do this, but Abraham's devotion and loyalty and submission to God has become a lesson for Jewish generations. Jordana Miller, JN1, Jerusalem.

The Messiah: Prophecy Fulfilled. This movie dramatically presents the true meaning of the Passover/Pesach (Seder) dinner practiced by Jews around the world. The story takes place in Israel on the FIRST Passover following YAHUSHUA's death. The Gospel is clearly revealed. This drama shows how one Rabbi Yehudah (Nick Mancuso) becomes a true follower of YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH also known as Jesus Christ in greek. After the resurrection, being filled with the Holy Spirit, Rabbi Yehudah zealously embarkrs on a journey to share the Good News with his people. He arrives in his hometown, precisely one year after the crucifixion, burial and resurrection of the Messiah. Now, his greatest challenge is to convince his own family (father, mother, brothers and sisters) that the long awaited Messiah has finally come. Through the Feast of Passover (the Seder dinner), spoken of in Torah by Moses, the Rabbi powerfully presents its prophetic nature and fulfillment in YAHUSHUA of Nazareth. PASSOVER 2014 Passover Seder (meal)begins Monday after Sundown April 14, 2014.The Lambs were slaughtered in the afternoon of the 14th day of the 1st Month, and the Passover Seder (meal) is after sundown Wednesday March 27 which also is the beginning of the Feast of Unleavened Bread Feast of Unleavened Bread sundown April 14 - sundown April 21, 2014 / 15-21 days of 1st Month April 15 & April 21 are High Sabbaths, no work is to be done. YAHUSHUA died around 3 p.m. Monday, April 14 /14th day of 1st month YAHUSHUA buried just before sundown Monday April 14, end of 14th day of 1st Month Passover Seder after sundown Monday, April 14 / beginning of 15th day of 1st Month. YAHUSHUA Crucified 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 14th day of 1st month, YAHUSHUA buried just before sundown Wednesday March 27, end of 14th day of 1st Month, Passover Seder after sundown Wednesday, March 27 / beginning of 15th day of 1st Month Feast of Unleavened Bread sundown Monday, April 14 / 15 Nisan-High Sabbath (No work) Start Counting of the Omer Tuesday sundown April 15 / 16th day of 1st Month YAHUSHUA Resurrected just before sundown Thursday, April 17 / 17th day of 1st month Last Day of Feast of Unleavend Bread - Monday sundown, April 21 / 21st day of 1st month/High Sabbath (No Work) Remember the Biblical day goes from sundown to sundown so the day actually starts at sundown the day before the actual date. (We understand YAHUSHUA rose from the dead on Saturday the True Sabbath the 17th day of the 1st Biblical Month, but please remember the 17th day of the 1st Month does not always fall on a Sabbath and that is the case this year. We go by the Date not the Day. Your birthday is the same Date every year but it is not the same Day.) Shalom and welcome to Jewish Holidays in 60 Seconds Today's holiday is Shavuot! Shavuot, the feast of weeks, commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to the entire nation of Israel assembled at Mount Sinai. Modern traditions include, reading poetry, consuming dairy products, reading the book of Ruth, decorating the home with plants, and all night Torah study. GOOD TIMES! Please SUBSCRIBE to this channel for more videos. Today, Israelis remember the 6,000,000 Jews that lost their lives during the Holocaust. An air raid siren goes off for 2 minutes to remember them. In the video, you will see 2 men walking during this time. They are most likely tourists and don't know. Eilat is a tourist town, since it is right next to the Red Sea. The mountains in the background are the Jordan Mountains. The Sea is down to the right - not pictured. Please take time today to remember the people who lost their lives so senselessly, and to remember the people in Africa and other places that are still experiencing genocide today. This day always makes me cry. Yom HaShoah 5773 Yom Hashoah Holocaust Remembrance Day, 2013 - Eilat This happens all over the country, not just in Eilat, but in every city, including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, and at the Dead Sea and the Red Sea. There is no place in Israel that the air raid siren can not reach. A few weeks after this, Eilat received 2 rockets and the air raid siren sounded for those as well. It is senseless.

The tradition on Hanukkah is to eat fried foods because oil is very important for this holiday. During the second century before the common era, the Syrian Greeks controlled Jerusalem and banned Judaism. A group of rebels known as the Maccabees defeated the Greeks and rededicated the Jewish temple. They found one container of kosher oil which lasted eight days, and rabbis say that is the miracle of this holiday. Now, many people eat latkes (fried potato pancakes) and sufganiyot (fried doughnuts with jelly or custard filling) here in Israel.

Shalom and welcome to Parsha in 60 Seconds Today's portion is BONUS ROUND! Rosh Hashanah, also known as the Jewish New Year, is the first of the Jewish High Holy Days that were listed in Leviticus. You laugh, you cry, and you're judged by God. Sounds fun right? It starts with a blast from the shofar which calls us to humble ourselves and recognize our need for God's grace. Next day gather at a nearby stream or river to symbolically cast away sin, this is called Tashlich (cast off). It is customary to greet one another by saying, "La shanah tova tikatevu," which means, "May your name be inscribed for a good year." The "inscribing" refers to the Book of Life, which according to Jewish tradition, closes ten days later. Jewish tradition includes rounded challah to represent the crown of God and the dipping of apples in honey to wish for a sweet and fruitful year. Rabbis and Cantors wear white to represent purity. And that is Rosh Hashanah in 60 seconds Please Subscribe

At The Seder written and sung by Judy Tellerman from the album, We Keep The Flame. AT THE SEDER © 2011 lyrics and music by Judith S. Tellerman This is a song a about Pesach (Heb.: Passover), the holiday commemorating the Exodus from slavery in Egypt, a celebration of God's essential attribute, love and compassion. When the children of Israel made a sign to God even though they had made many mistakes they crossed over to a redeemed life. This Redemption renews itself continually, as is written in the Talmud (Heb.: ancient sacred book of Jewish law and wisdom), "In each and every generation, one must view himself as if he himself was liberated from Egypt." (Exodus 15)
