'Head Up High' is written by all three band members, Paul and Ross Godfrey and Skye Edwards with production by Paul Godfrey. The album reflects a series of significant changes in the trio's lives while marking the success of the bands career spanning eighteen years since the release of their debut album, 'Who Can You Trust', an acclaimed trip-hop blueprint and the root of Morcheeba's universal success and appeal having sold millions of albums worldwide. The album plays hosts to a truly stellar mix of guest features from hip hop legend, Chali 2na (Jurassic 5), rap mogul Nature Boy Jim Kelly, the smoky vocals of James Petralli (White Denim), cheeky UK rhymers, Rizzle Kicks and the fierce French-Chilean rapper, Ana Tijoux who Paul first encountered on hit TV show, 'Breaking Bad'. The diversity of guests on the album is an inarguable accolade to Morcheeba, highlighting the magnitude of their career and influence on artist's whole generations apart.

About Vlad CPC: from childhood Vlad was in love with robots. when in Russia/USSR first computers appeared small Vlad did everything in his child power to get it. then to study it. he opened the box, he looked inside for those little gremlins who does all the work. he found none. but he also found out that he can do it himself. Computers understand simple language - programming. Natural language processing turned into writing music for computer games. Later, communication with electronic brains developed into more complex relationship with robots. Vlad fell in love with musical production. All those hardware and Synthesiser devices than can speak on a beautiful musical language! It only needs to be translated it to everyone! And so, simple hobby of musical programming has grown to professional music production that resulted in 3 albums and many, many single tracks released on various record labels. Nowadays, more robots lives in Vlad's apartment. We can be sure Vlad will continue to exhilarate us with his interpretation of robot's language.

The Fiery Furnaces: Eleanor Friedberger, Matthew Friedberger. Additional personnel: Ryan Sawyer (drums). The Fiery Furnaces can be lumped in only very superficially with other early-2000s garage-rock revivalists. Though comprised of a brother/sister duo (as the White Stripes claimed to be) and influenced by post-punk aesthetics, the Fiery Furnaces owe a much deeper debt to the tripped-out rock and pop of mid- to late-1960s. The group's debut, GALLOWSBIRD'S BARK, in fact, sounds like a cross between Jefferson Airplane's expansive song structures, the Seeds' grungy rock, and Paul McCartney's music-hall sing-alongs, all under the influence of Andre Breton's book MANIFESTOS OF SURREALISM. The distinctive sound of GALLOWSBIRD'S BARK is defined by the dominant presence of piano and acoustic guitar (which heighten the charming, carnival-esque atmosphere), as well as lo-fi production and a sonic melange of keyboards, fuzzed-out solos, and frenetic drumming. Moreover, Eleanor and Matthew Friedberger's associative, literate, and witty lyrics set the music apart, as do Eleanor's sly, somewhat naive vocals. The songs veer from shimmery folk-pop ("Tropical Ice-Land") to drone-psych paranoia ("Leaky Tunnel") to absurdist children's anthems ("Inca Rag/Name Game"). In short, the Fiery Furnaces are intelligent, ambitious, unpredictable, fun, catchy, and raucous, and their splendid debut should definitely be heard by those seeking fearlessly adventurous music.

Liner Note Author: Roger Wallace. Recording information: Arlyn Studio; Digital Doghouse; The Hit Shack; Wire Recording. Photographer: George Brainard. Listening to the opening notes of Roger Wallace's The Lowdown creates something of a time warp. The music sounds like country formed in the tradition of George Jones and Merle Haggard, and one could easily imagine the title track fitting between "Bartender's Blues" and "The Fightin' Side of Me." But the album's credits, along with the clean, bright production, assures the listener that The Lowdown was cut in an up-to-date studio in 2002. On his third album, Wallace and his fellow travelers take a trip back to the 1950s and 1960s to explore a number of country styles. While the lonesome steel guitar of "What Did I Do (The Teardrop Song)" reminds one of a sad Hank Williams tune, "You're a Heavenly Thing" washes the blues away with a bit of Western swing. This eclectic approach keeps The Lowdown from sounding like another retro one-note band trying to fit in with the current alternative country scene. Wallace is a versatile vocalist, offering a resonant baritone on the title cut and smoothing things out a bit for the swinging "Me and Abalina Jane." Wallace's band also sounds great, with guitarist Jim Stringer and steel player Marty Muse spicing up the proceedings. A number of guests also weigh in, with

Building on the success of his acclaimed debut, FOOD & LIQUOR, Chi-town representative Lupe Fiasco returns with a concept-themed record, THE COOL. Evenly balancing intelligent lyricism, poetic symbolism, and catchy pop-themed production, Lupe's sophomore effort partially follows the story of the ghetto Everyman, the Cool, in his ever-changing relationship with the Streets and the Game. Still, it's not all high-concept here. Lupe also celebrates the spoils of superstar glamour on the catchy single, "Superstar," and the travel-fantasy track, "Paris, Tokyo," and enters more experimental territory with the help of British trip-hop act, U.N.K.L.E. on "Hello/Goodbye (Uncool)." THE COOL features production work from Soundtrakk, Chris & Drop, Patrick Stump, and Chris Goss, among others, as well as guest appearances by Sarah Green, GemStones, Pooh Bear, Nikki Jean, Bishop G, Graham Burris, Unkle, Matthew Santos, and Snoop Dogg.

Audio Mixers: John Leventhal; Rick DePofi. Recording information: NY Noise, New York, NY; Swamp Raga Studios, Jacksonville, FL; Thompson Station, TN. Photographers: Clay Patrick McBride; Josh Johnson. Arranger: John Leventhal. Nearly eight years after Rosanne Cash last released a set of original songs, 2014's The River & the Thread finds her in a reflective mood, and just as 2009's The List saw her looking back with a set of classic songs recommended by her father, the late country legend Johnny Cash, The River & the Thread is dominated by thoughts and emotions that occurred to her as she was involved in a project to restore Johnny's boyhood home. This doesn't mean that Cash has returned to the spunky, country-accented sound of her most popular work - this is still Rosanne Cash the mature and thoughtful singer/songwriter we've come to know since the late '90s, and the tone of this album is unfailingly literate. But though this music isn't country, it's certainly Southern, and road trips from Alabama to Tennessee, visits to the Tallahatchie Bridge and Money Street, and vintage gospel music on the radio embroider these songs as Cash immerses herself in the places that were once close to home as if she's reuniting with long lost family. And two of the songs cut especially close to home - "Etta's Tune" was written in memory of Marshall Grant, a longtime family friend and member of Johnny Cash's band, while "When the Master Calls the Roll" is a tale of love torn apart during the Civil War that Cash wrote in collaboration with her former husband Rodney Crowell and current spouse John Leventhal - and they rank with the best material on the album, genuine and heartfelt, and written and performed with a genuine passion that never sinks into sentimental histrionics. Just as Cash's songs are crafted with a subtle intelligence, her vocals here are superb, getting to the heart of the lyrics without painting herself into a corner, and the production is rich but elegant and to the point. Rosanne Cash hasn't been especially prol

Personnel: Kimmy Drake (vocals, guitar); Alan Gabay (organ); Skyler Black (drums).Audio Mixer: Jim Diamond. Recording information: The Dungeon, North Miami, FL; The Living Room, Atlanta, GA. Photographer: Monica McGivern. Beach Day is another in a long line of bands looking to dig up the bones of the girl groups of the early '60s and give them some new life. The list is too long to even get started on here, but let's just say many have tried and relatively few have succeeded. The Florida trio's first album, Trip Trap Attack, is a noble effort that gets them about 95 percent of the way to success. Subtract the dozy ballad that sucks up way too much oxygen and stops the album dead in its tracks, and a punchy little album full of super-hooky songs, pleasantly scuffed and simple musical backing, and Kimmy Drake's powerful vocals is left. It really takes off on the peppy rockers like "Boys," "A Little Weird," and the handclappy "Beach Day," where the bandmembers bop and skip along happily, snapping their gum and daring the boys to keep up. They also show a little versatility by giving Northern soul a shot and nailing it dead on "Stay," trying out some bopping new wave melancholy on the very Josie Cotton-sounding track "Am I the Only One," and showing some admirable depth and soul on midtempo tracks like "Walking on the Streets" and "Wasting All My Time." Jim Diamond's reverby but clean production really helps these songs stick hard and the simple guitar-bass-drums lineup keeps things well grounded. Unfortunately, Beach Day aren't as good when they slow it way down on "Seventeen," which lays the schmaltz on a bit too thick and gets perilously close to bar band territory. Things are much better on the album's other ballad, "Come Back to Me," which is much less predictable and features some excellent guitar work by Drake. Apart from that one stumble, Trip Trap Attack is a really strong record that sounds made for the beach, but also for anytime you want a blast of nostalgia that's not too musty and has some modern kick.

Critically acclaimed guitarist Laurence. The original guitar music on the debut album 'A Story Without Words' is of such perfect production and creativity that it rivals the work of Ottmar Liebert and Jesse Cook. All the new flamenco and neo-classical tunes by Laurence are outstanding. Highly recommended. - Rene'e Gelpi, Galaxie CBC. About my music, or as I like to refer to it; an ethnic rhythmic stew: I have played many styles of music over the years but kept returning to acoustic based music. It wasn't until a trip to South America that I really started to hear the dynamic energy of the music that was created on acoustic nylon string guitar. The music I was exposed to, with its percussive pulsing rhythms, absolutely thrilled me. I knew I wanted to incorporate this into my own writing. It was from that experience that I researched artists and study material and the process is still on going. About Technology After being exposed to the recording studio I developed a love-hate relationship with the recording process.(there have been more than a few times that I was wondering if my 17 inch monitor would fit through my 22 inch studio window). I am however grateful for the fact, that with the advancement of technology, you can create whatever your mind can conceive. That is a very powerful position for any artist to be in. In the end I love the process. Having the tools to record, as you create, cannot be beaten. While I'm in the creative process the world seems full of infinite possibilities. About the CD 'a story without words' The music on my latest CD 'a story without words' is truly a hybrid of many styles and influences. It is an instrumental acoustic guitar based CD that uses a modified flamenco technique to create percussion and strong pulsing rhythms. I like to refer to it as an ethnic rhythmic stew. I have always been drawn to music that makes me travel either geographically or historically. This music music that will take you on an exhilarating journey to the beaches of Cuba, Spain, Brazil as well as to

Personnel includes: Yanni. Personnel: Yanni (piano, keyboards). This collection of rare and never before released recordings by Yanni sparkles with imagination and flair and is sure to put a pulse in the bloodstream of even the casual listener. Being a skeptic, one will find a soothing yet orchestral wonder within the framework of each of Yanni's recordings. Ranging from a variety of instruments, the pianist/composer extraordinaire continues to bring charm and romance to life in his art. Presented here on Nightbird are seven dramatic and scintillating recordings, good for morning rise, airplane trips, car travel, and dreamy night escapades. "Nightbird" radiates with scorching guitars and bouncy conga percussion. Throughout the record is Yanni's assertive direction and piano lines. "Chasing Shadows" is a murky, haunting number dealing with the lives of those too quick on their feet, not giving themselves enough time to slow down, enjoy life and catch up with their shadow, and enjoying one's true sense of self. "Dance with a Stranger" leaves the listener to ponder about chance encounters and failed romances, or should-have-beens, to the excitement and anticipation of a new love interest. The plethora of instruments and sounds used in this record is mind-boggling, and it's fun for the listener just to sit back, kick up their feet, and dream through all the different impressions and colors of sound and timbre. Yanni does it again successfully, with gripping yet soothing, reflective music for the underpaid, overworked person at the end of the day. ~ Shawn M. Haney

'UNDER', the fourth and NEW Kenny Schick/Basement3 CD, is the heart-felt sound track of an amazingly extraordinary, romantic and life changing adventure in Australia. For Kenny, the last couple years of a long and diverse musical career have been all about bold reassessments of self, a redefinition of his sound, and the decision to take his very personal 'studio project', Basement 3, into the 'live' realm. Inspired by the soulful, naked approach of acoustic musicians such as Gillian Welch, Iron and Wine, and Nick Drake, Kenny made the brave move to take a decade long method of dense, complex orchestration and turn it upon it's head. The result of this seemingly contradictory musical approach, this 'stripping down', yields a product that is very accessible to a wide range of audiences and reveals Kenny's skill as a front man. In keeping with his journey of extreme changes and opposites, his quirky irreverent sense of humor is the perfect ying to the yang of his often dark, introspective music. With the freedom and mobility a solo act affords, and the desire to explore his mind and this new musical direction more deeply, Kenny started to ponder the possibilities of travel. Having had more interest in his artsy music abroad, he entertained the idea of a musical adventure in Europe, but an Australian friend redirected his focus to the southern part of the planet. Having lived his whole life in the San Francisco bay area, Kenny needed a little shove to take this big dive - and it was New Year's Day 2006 that Kenny met an Australian girl named Sabine on myspace.com. After a 7 month online romance, Kenny quit all his bands, his part time job, left family and friends, and set out on a year long adventure down under. The new Kenny Schick/Basement3 CD, 'UNDER', was born on the opposite side of the world. Mostly written and recorded on a laptop in a small apartment in St. Kilda, Victoria, 'UNDER' is an all-acoustic venture. It is naked, exposed, and raw-it both documents and reflects the 'journey' and fulfills the evolution

Liam Neeson is an unstoppable force in this adrenaline-fueled thriller from director Pierre Morel. Bryan (Neeson) has taken early retirement from the CIA in order to live closer to his teenage daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). Bryan's government work kept him away from Kim for much of her childhood, and he's now trying to make up for lost time. When Kim announces that she's taking a trip to Paris with her friend Amanda (Katie Cassidy), Bryan is apprehensive about her traveling on her own. His worst fear is soon realized, as Kim and Amanda are abducted upon their arrival in France. Bryan immediately springs into action, using his well-honed CIA skills to piece together clues from a single, frantic phone call he received from Kim. He hops a plane to Paris, determined to rescue his daughter before she falls off the grid completely. With some help from his old CIA buddies, he tracks down the kidnappers-an Albanian crime ring known for selling young girls into the sex trade. He quickly takes matters into his own hands, plowing his way through Paris's underworld as the clock ticks down and the bullets fly. His search propels him into the upper echelons of a massive crime ring, putting him closer and closer to his beloved daughter. Neeson is known for tackling extremely cerebral roles, so it is interesting to see him in full-on action-hero mode. In TAKEN he is no less than a crime-fighting machine-a Bourne/Bond hybrid with a deathly serious baritone. And while he spends most of the film firing Uzis and snapping necks, he still manages to deliver a moving performance as an estranged father fighting for what he loves most in the world. The film undeniably owes a lot to Neeson's acting chops. He manages to raise this rather thinly plotted, deeply violent film a bar above your typical action fare.

'Open Up Your Heart' is the first studio-recorded CD from the Chicago Children's Choir. Made possible by a grant from Bank One and JPMorgan Chase, the CD features songs from around the world and a wide-variety of musical styles, such as South African folk songs, traditional classical pieces, gospel and pop. Released in December 2005, 'Open Up Your Heart' is a reflection of what the Chicago Children's Choir is all about, bringing children together from diverse racial, cultural and socieo-economic backgrounds; celebrating these diversities while setting a standard for the achievement of youth, both socially and musically. The CD begins with Vela Vela, a South African song of welcome. The Choir developed a special affinity for South African music after a traveling there in 1996. Shosholoza and Iidonga Zajericho were taught to the Choir while in South Africa. CCC alumna and now associate conductor of the Chicago Children's Choir, Mollie Stone, was so deeply moved by this trip that she devoted her college studies to South African music. Toyi Toyi and Ke Nali Monna are pieces that she brought back from her studies in South Africa and have become part of the core repertoire of the Choir. Hanuman's Heart is from the sold out, Jeff Award-nominated original world musical, 'Sita RAM;'a fusion of musical styles based on the timeless Indian epic, 'Ramayana.' Selections from 'Sita RAM' are now available on CD as well at cdbaby.com Tatkovina (a Macedonia folk song) and Svadba (from Bulgaria) are world folksongs, brought to us by friends of the Choir. Since the Choir is composed of such diverse young people, they are often our greatest sources for original music. One of our alumni sent Tatkovina to us upon his return to his native country. The unique vocal production of Svadba illustrates teaching philosophy of the Choir - which is to perform music in its most authentic interpretation and sytle. The message of Bridge over Troubled Water and I Need You to Survive capture a fundamental element of the Choir's mission - not only do
