From every corner of the world, Arabs and Africans... Caucasians and Asians... Europeans and mixed race Whole convoys cross stretches of land to reach this destination in a long journey that unravels man's eagerness to go through the most exhausting of challenges in order to quench the thirst of the soul. In the past, they used to spend months on the way, discouraged by neither the sizzling heat of the summer nor the freezing cold of the winter. They came from all parts of the world: from Persia and India and beyond, from the borders of West Africa and Europe, from the boundaries of France and Russia, all striving to drink from that pure spring and hoping to go through the spiritual deliverance they are after. Now, the journey has become much easier and would not probably exceed a few hours. Before reaching their destination, the pilgrims need to start their journey at specific times. This is called al-Jahfa for the people of Egypt, the Levant, and the Maghreb and is currently identified by the city of Rabegh. For the residents of Medina, it is called Tha al-Halifa or Abar Ali and for Iraq and beyond it is That Erq. For Kuwait and the eastern and central areas of Saudi Arabia, pilgrimage starts at Qaran al-Manazel, currently known as al-Sayl while for Yemen, India, and beyond, it is Yolamlam. For all those as well as for others, Mecca has become the spiritual homeland or the dream of their hearts in case they are unable to reach it. There you can see all sorts and colors of people in the same place and all on equal footing, for all of them are heading for the same destination and share the same inner peace. They all pray and plead to one God to whom they direct all their supplications. They also bring to Mecca an infinite array of cultures, traditions, foods, and costumes, all merging together at the heart of the sacred valley to produce a magnificently hybrid entity. Why not so? Mecca is the core of holiness that brings prosperity to all mankind on the cultural, social, ethnic, and commercial levels. Owing to all this, Mecca is the city of peace in both form and content. "It started with a window seat, and ended al fresco, with me — and a few hundred other people and their livestock — on the roof of the bus. It was by far the most enjoyable ride I've had." Having thus raised the bar for foreign tourists — by giving them, and everyone else, the everyday equivalent of a theme park ride — intercity buses have sobered up in the last decade. They've worked hard at safety and sophistication and sworn off their weakness for on-road circus tricks, ring-mastered , as was often the case, by a happy inebriate. But not content to stop at a straight drive, superior suspension, air-conditioning and drapes, buses today offer a host of luxury features that actually rival aircraft travel. Gliding on Volvo and Daimler chassis , Wi-fi-enabled interiors fitted out with personal LCD screens and preloaded DVDs, 23-inch seats that recline almost 160 degrees, with restrooms and pantries, sometimes even a spa out back, they're far from the bile-streaked deathtraps that once took you to the hills. Some tour operators are peddling them as '7-star coaches at first class train fares' . For customers, wedged between a rock (runaway air fares) and a hard place (trains), these new liners of luxury are just the ticket. Yesterday, Siddhi Vinayak Logistic Ltd (SVLL), the commercial vehicles manufacturer introduced its ultra-luxurious '7-star' bus, the SVLL Connect in Surat. These vehicles have been manufactured by Scania, the Swedish automotive manufacturer, operating now in India . About 120 SVLL Connect buses will hit the roads in two years, fanning out initially to the south and west. "Keeping in mind corporate needs, the bus will house a conference room with projectors and Wi-Fi connection, and will match aircraft comfort," says Deepak Baid, director SVLL. In addition to the bells and whistles, these buses will also cut short travel time. "These 31-seaters with all the necessary facilities will reduce travel time by at least 15%," he promises. According to TEAMPro, a market consultancy, the Indian luxury bus segment is currently valued at Rs 3,000 crore, with an annual growth rate of 15% to 20%. Having done the math, some tour operators have opted for the high road after weighing such factors as improved roadnetworks, demanding customers and limited options in transport. They're ready to invest up to Rs 3 crore per modified vehicle. Parveen Travels, a travel company confined, till now, to south India , claims to be the first in the country to introduce online bus reservation and complete passenger insurance cover, as well as the first to offer a two-channel personal entertainment system. Mohammed A Aarif, director, says 20 % of his fleet of over 800 buses belongs to the top tier. "The luxury bus segment is bound to grow," he predicts, "Aviation prices are rising and not everyone prefers trains and tickets are hard to come by," he says. Parveen recorded a growth of 22% last year. With talk of cabin crew, gourmet meals, conference rooms, and onboard entertainment, you could fool yourself into believing you're flying, even if on the road. عيون الأفلاج سمّيت الأفلاج بهذا الاسم بسبب عيون الماء المنفلجة (أي المنبثقة) خلال أراضيها منذ القدم، إذ كانت المنطقة تحوي حتى زمن قريب سبعة عشر عين ماء، مصدرها من المياه الجوفية التي تجري تحت إقليم اليمامة القديم منذ أقدم العصور. وقد كانت المياه تنساح من بعض هذه العيون لتشكل قنوات يمكن الاستفادة منها في الزراعة، ولذلك تسمى إحدى مناطق الأفلاج بالسيح الشمالي، والأخرى بالسيح الجنوبي. وقد كانت هذه العيون أشبه بالبحيرات من حيث الحجم إذ بلغ طول إحداها كيلومتراً كاملاً وكانت تصل في عمقها إلى ما يزيد عن الثلاثين متراً، إلا أنها جفّت جميعها تقريباً في الثمانينات من القرن العشرين بعد استهلاك المياه الجوفية في زراعة القمح. عين الرأس. وهي أكبر عيون الأفلاج مساحة عين أم هيب وقد أحاطتها وزارة الزراعة بسور شائك وتعد آخر عين جفت من عيون الأفلاج حيث جفت بشكل نهائي قبل عامين تقريباً. عين الرويس عين الباطن عين أم برج عين الشقيبات أو (الشقيب) عين أم البقر عين المليحة أم درج الفضول

A French man has died of the new SARS type of virus that has appeared in Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Tunisia, Qatar and other places. There are now cases of the new SARS virus in Europe from travelers returning from the ME. A French patient infected with a deadly new respiratory virus related to SARS died Tuesday of the disease, which has killed half the people known to be infected and alarmed global health officials. The novel coronavirus is related to SARS, which killed some 800 people in a global epidemic in 2003. Dr. Margaret Chan, head of the World Health Organization, told CNN on Wednesday that the virus is "a threat to the entire world." Chan also singled out the illness in a speech on Monday in Geneva. "We understand too little about this virus when viewed against the magnitude of its potential threat," Chan said at the annual WHO meeting. "We do not know where the virus hides in nature. We do not know how people are getting infected. Until we answer these questions, we are empty-handed when it comes to prevention. These are alarm bells. And we must respond." World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Margaret Chan looks on during a meeting on the SARS-like virus coronavirus (nCoV) situation on May 23, 2013 at the World Health Assembly in Geneva. Saudi Arabia lamented that foreign drug companies had patented the new SARS-like virus that has killed 22 people worldwide in less than a year, slowing down the diagnosis process considerably.'We are still struggling with diagnostics and the reason is that the virus was patented by scientists and is not allowed to be used for investigations by other scientists,' said Saudi Deputy Health Minister Ziad Memish. Viaje que hice recorriendo Latinoamérica. Por años fue solo un sueño, pero poco a poco el sueño fue tomando forma haste que un día tomé la decisión. Renuncié a mi trabajo de 8 años en una oficina , vendí mi auto y asi obtuve algo de dinero. Compré un pasaje a Tucumán con la idea de viajar sin tiempos para el norte. Llegué a México a los 9 meses en los cuales recorrí el norte de Argentina, Bolivia, Perú, Brasil (cruzando el amazonas en un viaje de 8 dias en un barco) Venezuela, Colombia, Panamá, Costa Rica, Nicaragua y de ahi a dedo hasta el sur de México donde me quedé 4 meses.
