In fact, in Bahrain expats found they had significantly more disposable income than before they moved. For some people, earning more isn't as important as the opportunity for new experiences; Qatar is the number one country in the world for making friends with other expats, but in Canada expats are more likely to integrate, spending as much time with local friends as other expats. For parents, a key consideration is the health and wellbeing of their children. Over ninety percent of expat parents in Hong-Kong felt their children's safety had improved, and in Australia children were likely to attend local schools and spend more time outdoors.
