Interail locomotive 42206 is seen at the Dynon Freight yards (Melbourne) preparing to attach to container wagons delivered earlier in the morning by a QR National (QRN) freight train. Once attached the locomotive shunts the train forward to clear a point (turnout) and then backs the train into a siding so the shipping containers can be unloaded. Interail is part of QR National railways. The 422 Class were delivered to their original owners, the New South Wales Government Railways during 1969 & 1970 and. The locomotive has an EMD 16-645E engine and features a drivers cab on both ends of the locomotive, a feature that became common on NSW locomotives for the next 30 years. .
