When we started this list, we had 50-odd coastlines to choose from across both hemispheres: palm-lined stretches of white-sand beaches, profoundly scenic (and sometimes terrifying) coastal drives. In the end, we chose the coasts that are beautiful for their wildness, ruggedness, and jaw-droppability.
