Charlie and his friend Andy have been to a UFO conference at Roswell, N.M. and stopped at a cafe since it was late. They meet April, a waitress, who had just been dumped by her boyfriend. Not having anyone else in that small town, she is waiting for a bus to go to Colorado Springs to stay with her aunt and get a job. Charlie is a widower and has been traveling around the country in his RV and going nowhere in particular. Since they are going that way anyway, Charlie invites her to ride along to Colorado Springs. Charlie is not in a hurry to get her to Colorado Springs, so they take some side trips and go site seeing. After Andy goes home, Charlie hires April as his driver since he hates to drive the RV, and they decide not to go to Colorado Springs immediately. Even though they are years apart in age, they have a good time together, and eventually love blossoms between them, the perfect spring fall romance. The second half of the book takes place on The Other Side. She has died first so comes to get him when his time to cross over comes. She takes him back to The Other Side and slowly gets him acquainted with how to live there. He loves it there since they have credit cards which never have to be paid off. Also it is easy to move around instantly and to change the weather. There are no worries or cares, and it is a wonderful peaceful place. And of course, the best thing to both of them is that their love has survived death and they are together again. Theirs was truly a spring fall romance. The book has no explicit sex or profanity.
