Teacher Swimming To Work in India SUBSCRIBE: http://bit.ly/Oc61Hj A DEDICATED teacher commutes to his government job at a school - by wading across a neck-deep river swirling with debris. Abdul Malik's barmy commute first began 20 years ago when he started his job at a village school in Malappuram district Kerala, India. In a bid to shave three hours off his round trip journey by bus each day, he took to swimming across the raging local contributory of the Chaliyar river. Once on the other bank he swiftly changes into a dry set of clothes and treks for 10 minutes uphill until he reaches the school. Abdul now hopes to use his unique commute to teach his pupils environmental lessons - which he hopes will help future generations protect the river from pollution.
